Posture Alignment Program

For those who prefer to relax with movements and are seeking for more body awareness, Conscious Rebalance proposes the Posture Alignment Program with exercises inspired by the various modalities of movement techniques.

The objective of this program is to coach people to improve the functions of the body with better management of stress linked to posture issues, and to promote relevant information about the concept of joint and muscle interplay. The Posture Alignment physical exercise program is based on the teachings of  Mme. Goudelieve Denys-Struyf, author of the G.D.S. method. The Yoga sessions or classes are inspired by the principles of the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga form.

Specific movement and posture exercises for stress relief are taught to help in the prevention of tensions and injuries related with the osteoarticular and musculoskeletal systems and, to align the natural curves of the spine re-balancing pelvis, thorax and skull in its vertical axis (vertebral column) in both static and dynamic body posture, avoiding energy blockages and discomfort at the lower back, shoulders and neck.

The program is designed to:
  • stimulation of joints mobility,
  • stretching and strengthening of the muscle groups,
  • breathing, including diaphragmatic breathing,
  • better understanding and control of the body movements and gestures,
  • stimulation of the spinal movements and stretching of the posterior muscles group to relieve back tension,
  • strengthening and reeducation of the pelvic floor,
  • perception of an unbalanced body posture addiction and self correction,
  • the importance of the correct use of the feet when: standing, walking, seating, lifting, reaching, carrying and in any other activity involving posture alignment,
  • many other elements which will help to avoid postural problems during work, practising a sport or at any other activity in daily life.

The regular practice of the exercises of this program helps to relax the body and mind, increases body flexibility and mobility, relieves discomfort caused by a bad posture, eliminates tension and muscle blockages, increases energy, focus and mindfulness for the execution of professional, school and home tasks, and other benefits.

Everyone, including children above seven years old as well as elderly people, can join and learn from it. The approach of the exercises and techniques differs from person to person depending on the concerned needs. The sessions are given individually respecting the limitations and the typology of the person in question. The number of sessions is based on a three-month program with a weekly meeting.

  • Children and Teenagers,  45-60 minutes per session, monthly card with 4 sessions 150 euro.
  • Adults,  90 minutes per session, monthly card with 4 sessions 200 euro.

Note: If requested it is possible to adapt this program also for small groups.
